Rising home values and sustained high foreclosure were the main reasons, according to Zillow that 1.9 million homeowners came out of negative equity. The highest cities with homeowners who were freed from negative equity were LA, Phoenix, Miami, Dallas –Fort Worth and Riverside, California.
