Laurie Murphy – Attorney at Valensi Rose PLC

With civil engineering degrees and more than twenty years of law practice, Laurie Murphy’s unique skills in real estate and construction litigation matters set her apart from most attorneys in several of her practice areas.

Her clients include high-end residential and commercial property owners, including corporate, partnership and individual property owners; contractors and developers; and other real estate professionals as well as business owners. She has substantial experience in a wide variety of legal disputes including seller disclosure obligations, mechanics liens, joint property owner disputes, defective construction, adjoining landowner disputes, easements, covenants, conditions and restrictions (CC&R’s), lease options, broker obligations, foreclosures, specific performance actions, partition actions and commercial unlawful detainer actions and lease disputes. In addition, she handles general business litigation and employment disputes for her business owner clients and successfully obtains insurance for her clients in business, real estate and employment disputes. She has significant court and jury trial experience as well as extensive experience in alternate dispute resolution (ADR) including both arbitration and mediation.

As a member of the firm for over twenty years and the head of its litigation practice group for over ten years, Ms. Murphy manages and mentors an experienced group of litigators that are noted for their ability to efficiently solve their client’s complex disputes. Realizing that litigation is often a painful experience, Laurie and her colleagues strive to make the process as smooth as possible with resourceful and effective case management. Ms. Murphy is a frequent lecturer on real estate and construction matters. She presents seminars at numerous professional organizations such as the National Business Institute, and she is a faculty member at UCLA Extension where she teaches courses on landlord-tenant law.
