Let’s Talk About Money

Not too long ago I was having a conversation with one of my students. This student (lets call “him” George for our conversation) was complaining about his financial situation. He was “broke” and needed to get money. I let him talk for a while until it reached a point where he was going and going and going, just like the energizer bunny. I finally said: George, where is money made? He looked at me with this puzzled look on his face and said: by working. Then I said: Where else? He responded, at the federal reserve bank, selling things, part-time jobs and overtime, just to mention a few.
I looked at George and said, your are WRONG! Money is made in you mind. Napoleon Hill said: “Everything begins in thought”. If you really think about it, George had to think about the many kinds of ways to make money, so why not create thoughts that will make you money without working yourself to the bone. For example, all you have to do is find a need, and fill the need. An old friend of mine gave me the best advice ever as young man, he said: Mike, whenever there is a problem, there is an opportunity.
So instead of complaining about life and how you don’t have money, why not begin looking for one of today’s problems and find the solution. Then get paid for it. Money is everywhere. You are probably standing on top of your own GOLD MINE, but are to busy looking for the reasons why you need money to be able to see what is right in front of you.
My mentor always tells me, Mike keep your “antenna up for those opportunities that may appear from time to time”. Is your antenna UP?
