According to Forbes Magazine and the Chief Economist of Trulia, Jed Kolko buying a home is actually cheaper than renting in all of the nation’s 100 largest metros — by an average of 45%.
The reason for this phenomenon? In a nutshell, record low mortgage rates, home prices still down, and falling inventory in the rental market.
